29 Jul 99% au naturel. whether I like it or not…
A few months ago I pretty much stopped wearing make-up.
This isn’t really a huge difference, I really didn’t wear much to begin with – mainly eye shadow – so it’s not like my face was suddenly bland in comparison. I just, one day, didn’t feel like bothering with the application of said shadow, and so…I didn’t do it. and then I didn’t do it again the next day… and several months later, I am perfectly happy with that decision.
The desire to simplify is truly reaching all the corners of my life.
It’s kind of funny… me and enhancements? It’s like we kinda don’t really get along.
Hair colour? Love it! But it fades crazy quick on me.
I used to get my nails done, and frankly, if I managed to keep the polish on for more than a day and a half, I considered it a good investment. It pretty much peels right off my nails in one piece.
Make-up? It all but completely vanishes from my skin less than an hour after I put it on.
Seems pretty pointless, really. Fruitless efforts, that I really don’t care enough about. It takes a little extra time from each one of my days… so I’ll save it for those “special” occasions.
In the meantime, I’ll keep cleansing my face with my personally hand-crafted oil blend, moisturising with another group of oils I’ve blended, dusting my face with my home-made loose powder, and call it good. Because my skin is brighter, my lines are finer, my pores are smaller, and I have no crazy shine to contend with. cleanse. moisturise. powder. done for the day.
Because, frankly, at 42, I’m feeling pretty damn awesome.
